Megan Mittelstadt, the former director of training and education in the Landry Cancer Biology Consortium at Harvard Medical School, has been named assistant director of faculty development and recognition in UGA’s Center for Teaching and Learning. Mittelstadt began her new position Feb. 1.
As director of training and education, Mittelstadt worked with faculty to design and implement innovative graduate curriculum and managed the Landry Cancer Biology Consortium. In addition, she collaborated with faculty to implement and assess curricular and co-curricular offerings for research fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
Prior to her appointment as director of training and education, she was a Curriculum Fellow in the Landry Cancer Biology Consortium and Cancer Biology Area of Concentration as well as a Charles Follen Folson Teaching Fellow at Harvard Medical School.
Mittelstadt had been a lecturer in genetics at Harvard Medical School since 2013.
Following the completion of a Bachelor of Science in biology and a doctorate in molecular, cellular and developmental biology, both from the University of South Carolina, Mittelstadt completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Texas A&M Health Science Center.
