Marshall Shepherd, elected Fellow of American Meteorological Society

Marshall Shepherd, an associate professor in the department of geography, was elected a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society. Only one-fifth of 1 percent of society members are chosen for this honor through the Fellow nomination process.

The honor serves as recognition of outstanding contributions to the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences or their application through a number of years. Formal announcement of Shepherd’s honor will be made at the 89th Annual Review and Fellows Awards on Jan. 11 in Phoenix.
