Mandatory ethics training

In 2010, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia adopted an ethics policy affecting all university system faculty and staff, including student employees. To ensure understanding and compliance, the BOR created a training module for all newly hired employees and mandated participation from all USG institutions.

In addition, the USG policy included “refresher” training. The USG recently issued a new training module with a deadline for completion of March 15 by all paid faculty, staff and student employees hired prior to Feb. 1, 2013.

During this process, UGA also will require its employees to review the UGA Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment policy. Individuals required to take the training should begin by visiting the Human Resources home page (www.hr.uga.edu) and selecting “BOR Ethics Training” at the bottom right of the page. The mandatory requirements can be met by viewing the 11-minute Ethics Refresher video presentation; completing the Ethics Policy Compliance Agreement; reviewing the UGA NDAH policy; and completing the NDAH Policy Compliance Agreement.

The University System of Georgia ethics policy is at http://www.usg.edu/audit/compliance/ethics. Employees who have questions about the training should email ethicstraining@uga.edu.
