Learning in Retirement courses

The Learning in Retirement group will offer 30 one-to-five-day courses this semester on topics ranging from operating a computer to economic and financial changes to the Creek Indian Nation.

Registration is Sept. 14 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Trumps Catering, 2026 S. Milledge Ave. Registration also may be done by mail.

In addition to courses, there are interest groups ranging from Lady Dogs Basketball to hand quilting. On five Fridays there will be classes on “Chasin’ Tornadoes . . . or What to Do if One is Chasin’ You,” “All that Jazz” and more. Four lunch-and-learn sessions featuring Nash Boney, Terry Kay and others will be held. There also will be travel/study trips to CNN, the Georgia Aquarium and the High Museum of Art. Service-oriented courses dealing with Recording for the Blind, Alzheimer’s disease and Giving Voices to the Voiceless also are offered.
