Kellogg Award deadline

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2011 Outreach Scholarship/W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Award, administered by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities. Up to two of the applications will be recommended by a committee administered by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach to be UGA’s nominees for the Southern region (The award recognizes five regions).

To apply, e-mail a 500-word abstract to ovppso@uga.edu by Jan. 10. The abstract should describe the outreach and engagement partnership; the level of reciprocity in the relationship between the university and the community partner(s); the level of interdisciplinary cooperation, and the integration of the outreach and engagement partnership with the university’s research and teaching missions; the specific impact of the partnership on the community partner(s); and on the university and its faculty (publications, promotion and tenure), students, and staff; and the development over time, the duration, and the sustainability of the outreach and engagement partnership.
