Income tax assistance

 

The Georgia United Credit Union is partnering with the College of Family and Consumer Sciences to offer free tax -preparation to low- and middle-income individuals who do not have depreciable property or extensive stock or asset transactions. Sessions will be offered at the credit union at 190 Gaines School Road by appointment Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. from Jan. 31-April 12. Walk-ins are welcome Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon from Feb. 4-April 7. Tax preparation will be by appointment only the week of March 10 with no offerings on March 10 and 17.

This program is offered through Voluntary Income Tax Preparation Assistance, which is sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service. Volunteers are credentialed by the IRS.
