Huabei Guo, an assistant research scientist at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center and lead principal investigator, and Michael “Hawkeye” Pierce, the Mudter Professor in Cancer Research in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and co-PI, received $50,000 from the Georgia Research Alliance to study the mechanisms that regulate colon cancer stem cell growth and cancer progression.
