Horticulturist to give lecture

Noted horticulturist Allan Armitage will speak about the gardens of Western Canada in a presentation May 15 at 7 p.m. at the State Botanical Garden. The lecture is part of the monthly lecture series “The World is My Garden.” The final lecture will be June 19 and Armitage will discuss the gardens of New Zealand. Lectures are $10 each to attend and includes a $2 voucher good toward a purchase at Donderos’ Kitchen in the garden cafe. Armitage is a writer, speaker and researcher who has studied a variety of plants—including annuals and perennials—in various climates. He also is the director of the Trial Gardens at UGA.
