Hatton Scholarship reception

GLOBES, the university’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender faculty and staff organization, will hold its 2013 Annette Hatton Scholarship reception on March 28.

Designed to celebrate GLOBES founder Annette Hatton and raise funds for the scholarship, the reception will take place 6-8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn’s Redfearn Grille, 197 E. Broad St. Free refreshments will be served, and donations are welcome.

Those who cannot attend, but still would like to make a donation to the scholarship, should make a check out to GLOBES and write “scholarship fund” in the notes section. Donations can be mailed to Ricky Roberts, 137 Myers Hall or GLOBES, PO Box 735, Athens, GA 30603.

The scholarship award comes with up to $1,000 and will recognize an undergraduate student for his or her commitment to service in the LGBT community. More information, including scholarship award application, are at http://lgbtcenter.uga.edu/graduation/hatton-award.html.
