Graduate student symposium

Lindsay Boring will be the 2010 colloquium speaker at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources annual Graduate Student Research Symposium.

Held for graduate students to hone their presentation skills and share their research in front of peers and judges, the symposium is March 4-5 in Room 304 of Warnell Building 1. Boring will speak at 4 p.m. March 4 in the same room.

The director of the Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center since 1991, Boring is also an adjunct professor with Warnell and a former associate professor of the school. He holds three degree—B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.—in botany. His research interests focus on forest ecology and forest management.

The author of dozens of journal articles, Boring now oversees the Ecological Research Center’s five long-term research projects and the stewardship of 30,000-acre Ichauway site, graduate student co-sponsorship programs and the center’s natural resource education and outreach services.
