GLOBES, a diverse organization of faculty, staff, graduate students and administrators, whose mission is to advocate for, develop and nurture UGA’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer communities, will hold a welcome reception to kick off pride weekend Sept. 12 from 6-8 p.m. in Room 275 of the special collections libraries. All proceeds from the reception will benefit GLOBES and the Annette Hatton Scholarship Fund, which awards up to $1,000 and will recognize an undergraduate student for his or her commitment to service in the LGBTQ community.
