Georgia Center youth programs

The Georgia Center for Continuing Education is offering new summer residential programs for youth.

The Pre-College Summer Sessions offer rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors the chance to experience college. For two weeks, campers will live on campus, experience college-level academic study and begin developing the skills they will need to succeed at a university level. Intensive options are available for students with a strong interest in one field.

Two sessions are available:
June 6-19 or July 11-24. Registration deadlines are May 17 and June 14, respectively. The programs cost between $1,495 and $1,895 for commuters and between $2,195 and $2,495 for residential camps with or without intensive options.

The Summer Preview program is for rising 7th-9th grade students to develop the skills they will need to succeed in high school and college. From June 20-26, students will live in Myers Residence Hall with a roommate and resident adviser; eat in the dining halls; attend a daily academic seminar; and participate in activities that will build leadership, academic and life skills.

Camp is $795 for commuters, $1,095 to stay in the residence halls. May 21 is the application deadline.
