Funds for faculty travel

The Office of the Provost is allocating funds to provide additional support to mission-critical faculty travel in fiscal year 2011.

These funds are intended for faculty who are invited to present research papers or serve on panels at key academic conferences but have minimal or no state- or grant-funded travel support.

Faculty interested in applying for these funds, which are to be used for travel taking place by June 30, should complete the online request form (http://provost.uga.edu/index.php/fiscal-affairs).

The form should then be submitted to the appropriate department head or director and then to the dean or vice president for review and approval. Completed forms should be sent to Chris Miller, Academic Fiscal Affairs, 209 New College.

All requests will receive a response as to whether funds will be allocated for the travel and, if funded, the amount of support provided by the Office of the Provost.

The notification will be sent to the dean, vice president or associate provost who submitted the request. Those administrators are responsible for notifying the faculty member of the outcome of the request.

Any questions regarding travel allocations from this funding source should be directed to Miller at (706) 583-0337.
