Four finalists for education college deanship will give presentations

 

Four finalists for the position of dean of the College of Education will visit campus this month.

A search committee, chaired by Daniel Nadenicek, dean of UGA’s College of Environment and Design, conducted a national search to identify the finalists. The committee was assisted by the UGA Search Group in Human Resources.

Each finalist will make a public presentation at 9:15 a.m. in Room G5 of Aderhold Hall. The finalists and dates of their presentation are:

• Oct. 11: Bernard Oliver, program coordinator of education leadership and policy studies and professor, School of Human Development and Organizational Studies, University of Florida;

• Oct. 15: Ronald M. Cervero, associate dean for outreach and engagement, co-director of the Institute for Evidence-Based Health Professions Education and professor in UGA’s College of Education;

• Oct. 17: Robert S. Lapiner, associate vice chancellor for global continuing education and professor at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies; and

• Oct. 22: Craig H. Kennedy, senior associate dean and associate dean for research in the Peabody College and professor in the department of special education, Vanderbilt University. Kennedy is also a professor in the department of pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The presentations will be streamed live to River’s Crossing, Room 113; Griffin Campus, Stuckey Building, Room 201; Gwinnett Campus, Intellicenter Building, Room 147; and Ramsey Center, Room 215 (except Oct. 17).
