Fish food

Irving Steel, a 2008 alumnus of the School of Public and International Affairs now living in China, was featured in a story from the news service China Daily for his work trying to improve environmental conditions and food safety in China through aquaponics.

Aquaponics is a system for sustainably growing crops and raising fish together in an indoor environment. Steel, who runs an aquaponics workshop in Shanghai, said he believes the ancient process could improve food and air safety in China. He told China Daily, “Indeed, food safety is so important. There must be revolution for a healthy way of living.”
