Eric Prostko, professor and extension weed specialist in the department of crop and soil sciences, received the Outstanding Extension Award at the Weed Science Society of America’s Annual Awards Program in February in Portland, Ore.
Prostko was honored for his contributions to the field of weed science. He is responsible for statewide weed science programs in field corn, peanuts, soybean, sunflower, grain sorghum and canola. Among his many accomplishments is development of an Internet-based training program for county extension agents.
