Edward Delgado-Romero, Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology

Edward Delgado-Romero, a professor in the department of counseling and human development services, received the American Psychological Association’s 2011 Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest.

As recipient of the early career award (within 15 years of graduation), Delgado-Romero presented an address at the association’s annual convention and wrote an article for the field’s top journal, American Psychologist.

Delgado-Romero’s research and scholarship have addressed racial/ethnic issues in psychology and has applied multicultural psychology to clinical practice. He has numerous publications in these areas, with 25 journal articles, 27 book chapters and a co-edited book. Several have been published in highly prestigious outlets in psychology, such as The Counseling Psychologist and The Journal of Counseling Psychology.
