Deborah Tippins, Mentor Award

Deborah Tippins, a professor in the department of mathematics and science education, received the first Mentor Award ever given by the Southeastern Association of Science Teacher Education and then was doubly honored when board members voted to rename it the Deborah Tippins Mentor Award for future winners.
Tippins, a member of the board of directors for the Association of Science Teacher Educators and past president of the SASTE, has earned an international reputation for mentoring colleagues both nationally and internationally. She was honored at the group’s annual meeting hosted at UGA in October.
