Christopher King, new board member for American Association for Laboratory Animal Science

Christopher King, assistant vice president for research and director of UGA’s Office of Animal Care and Use, has been elected to the board of trustees for the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.

A nonprofit association with more than 13,000 members in the U.S. and located in more than 35 countries, the AALAS is dedicated to the humane care and use of laboratory animals. Its certification programs are internationally recognized and often required for laboratory researchers. King, who is also an associate professor in the department of population health in the College of Veterinary Medicine, begins a three-year term this month.
