Cholesterol screening

As part of Heart Health Month, the University Health Center will offer faculty and staff total cholesterol screenings Feb. 11–15 from 8–10 a.m. by appointment. The lipid profile will give information about HDL/LDL breakdown (the “good” and “bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides. Appointments will be limited to 75 participants. The cost is $15, and participants should not eat anything after midnight the night before the test. Participants also should drink plenty of water so they are fully hydrated at the time blood is drawn. Results will be given at the end of February by appointment. Call (706) 542-8690 to make an appointment. A current UGA ID or picture ID must be brought to the screening. Additional information is available online (www.uhs.uga.edu).
