Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center to perform ‘Glorious Sextets’

The UGA Performing Arts Center will present the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center April 24 at 3 p.m. in Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall in the program “Glorious Sextets.” The concert will feature string sextets by Richard Strauss, Antonin Dvorak and Johannes Brahms.

The concert is the finale of a season-long partnership between the Performing Arts Center and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; the UGA partnership established the greatest presence in one location for the Chamber Music Society outside of New York City.

Tickets for the concert are $40 and are discounted for UGA students. Tickets can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center box office, online at pac.uga.edu or by calling 706-542-4400.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is the nation’s premier repertory company for chamber music. The artists performing on the “Glorious Sextets” program include violinists Ani Kavafian and Erin Keefe, violists Yura Lee and Matthew Lipman, and cellists Dmitri Atapine and David Finckel.

The concert will be recorded for national broadcast on American Public Media’s Performance Today, heard by 1.4 million listeners around the country.

Patrick Castillo from the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center will give a preconcert lecture 45 minutes before the concert.
