Administrative Changes

Steve L. Brown, interim assistant dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the Tifton campus,  has been named the assistant dean for UGA’s Cooperative Extension. He has been with the CAES for 18 years as a professor of entomology and UGA Extension program coordinator. Brown will start his new job April 1.
Denise C. Gardner has been named director of the Office of Institutional Research, which is under the administrative auspices of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. She previously served as associate director and interim director of the office. She has worked in the field of institutional research for nearly 20 years. She holds a Ph.D. in educational research and policy analysis from North Carolina State University and an M.A. in industrial-organizational psychology from Appalachian State University.
Chad Hanson has been named an assistant volleyball coach at UGA. From 2004–2007, he was an assistant coach at the University of Iowa. He has previously volunteered as assistant coach for  the University of Idaho and coached at Washington State University.
David Jordan, professor of communications and humanities at Colorado Mountain College, has been named the new associate director for assessment in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. His responsibilities include supporting assessment of UGA’s general education outcomes for undergraduate students, as well as assessment of student learning in undergraduate majors and graduate programs. Jordan received his Ph.D. in English from UGA in 1994.
John Lilly, former tight ends coach  and recruiting coordinator at Florida State University, has been named tight ends coach at UGA. Under Lilly’s direction, four of FSU’s last six recruiting classes have been ranked in the top four in the nation.
