Cindi Leive, editor-in-chief of Glamour magazine and glamour.com, which together reach more than 15 million readers each month, will address “Magazines From Now On: What Works (and What Doesn’t) in the Age of Twitter and Facebook,” at the 2012 Mingledorff-Lorimer Lecture.

Sponsored by the UGA Libraries, the lecture will be held April 19 at 4 p.m. in the auditorium of the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries. A reception will follow.

Glamour is the most celebrated woman’s magazine in American today, having won more than 170 journalism awards,” said Chantel Dunham, development director for the libraries. “Under Cindi Leive, it has received a record number of national magazine awards, including the top honor, magazine of the year, a new category added in 2010 to recognize both print and digital excellence.”

The Mingledorff-Lorimer Lecture in Print Media was created by Huldah Mingledorff. Her father-in-law, George Horace Lorimer, was editor of The Saturday Evening Post from 1899-1937.

Lorimer is credited with discovering or promoting some of the best writers of the day, and Mingledorff gave his books, correspondence and memorabilia to the libraries.
